Terry

After hearing “House of the Rising Sun,” by the Animals in 1969, Terry stopped taking piano, picked up a guitar and never looked back, taking on “House” as her first challenge.   Living in an era of Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel and Joni Mitchell, to name a few, allowed Terry to explore songwriting and melodic experimentation.  She continues to be drawn to the communication, power and connection of music, in its many forms and voices, ancient, past and present.  Her songs cover a wide spectrum of genres, introspection, observations and stories: from obsession in Man Behind the Curtain, isolation in Island Girl, and the true life stories in Psycho Cat and We're Related.  Fans of Emmy Lou Harris, Patty Griffin, Nora Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, Lucinda Williams, and Eliza Gilkyson will discover another new favorite in Terry Mills.
